By integrating Ecobeton® Vetrofluid® as a vital complement, we move beyond simple repair into a comprehensive three-stage restoration process that strengthens and stabilizes the new material to the old, effectively resetting the asset’s service life.
Substrate Stabilization
The reinforcement begins with substrate stabilization, where Vetrofluid® is applied to deteriorated areas before the repair mortar. It penetrates the existing concrete on average up to 1.5 inches and the new concrete 3 inches, becoming a permanent part of the concrete matrix and providing a hardened, stable foundation to ensure a permanent repair.


Superior Curing
Once the repair material is applied, Vetrofluid serves as a high-performance curing compound. By retaining essential internal moisture, it optimizes hydration and eliminates the risk of shrinkage or 'spider cracking'. This promotes a deep molecular interlock at the interface, ensuring the bond strength far exceeds a basic mechanical connection.
Future Proofing
Ecobeton® Vetrofluid® provides monolithic protection by fundamentally transforming the concrete's internal chemistry, creating a permanent barrier that future-proofs both the Surface Armor™ repair and the underlying substrate against the primary causes of structural failure. Becoming part of the permanent concert matrix to strengthen and densify the existing concrete, effectively blocking the ingress of chloride ions from de-icing salts and marine environments, which are the leading catalysts for reinforcement corrosion in highway and airport infrastructure.


Vetrofluid® undergoes a pozzolanic reaction with free lime (calcium hydroxide), acting as a critical shield against carbonization, preventing atmospheric CO2 from lowering the concrete’s alkalinity. The result is a fully integrated, impermeable system that shields the entire structural depth from environmental degradation, significantly extending the service life of the asset.
