When we engineered EA Color Armor™, we didn’t just look at creating a better aesthetic coating—we looked at the molecular science behind concrete and coatings failure. EA Color Armor™ is an advanced, polymer-modified cementitious product.
Unlike traditional coatings that sit on top of the pavement, EA Color Armor™ is designed to flow directly into those microscopic fissures and tight hairline cracks that threaten concrete infrastructure. By filling these voids entirely, the EA Color Armor™ System creates an impermeable shield against moisture. During freezing temperatures, there is no trapped water to expand, which eliminates freeze-thaw spalling and cracking over time.
Best of all, this ultra-fine formulation gives it incredible fluidity. It is refined enough to be applied seamlessly as a crisp line marker, yet stable enough to be used as an ultra-fine crack filler and aesthetic overlay across small to massive horizontal or vertical surfaces.

The Science behind the EA Color Armor™ System: How it works
EA Color Armor™ utilizes a dual-action polymer-cement matrix. EA Color Armor™ System achieves water impermeability (blocking rain and chemicals from entering), while maintaining vapor permeability (allowing the sub-base concrete to breathe out natural subterranean moisture). It is this unique chemistry of a cement-to-cement bond that allows it to breathe where traditional non-permeable coatings suffocate and ultimately lead to failure.
As temperatures fluctuate, trapped vapor creates intense hydrostatic pressure underneath the coating, inevitably leading to blistering and total adhesion failure (delamination).
By venting sub-base vapor pressure naturally, EA Color Armor™ prevents delamination and spalling, delivering a permanently bonded, high-visibility moisture impermeable finish.
Traditional topical line paints and acrylic coatings form a dense, non-permeable film over concrete surfaces. This traps naturally occurring moisture vapor rising through the concrete slab leading to delamination.
Because it is a polymer-modified cementitious mortar, EA Color Armor™ establishes an identical molecular profile to the host concrete substrate, creating a true cement-to-cement bond.
The EA Color Armor™ System bonds molecularly to the concrete matrix, filling micro-fissures and minimizing freeze-thaw cycle damage. It isn’t a coating; it becomes part of the surface.
